In New England,( New Bedford) where theres a portuge population
they make a sweet soft bread, yellow in color, not from eggs, they use food coloring. Its tasty because its sweet but inferior to something like brioche, it has no butter, no real eggs.
The local bakers use cheap oil and eggshade, a homemade version would be a lot better if you can find someone capable.
