This past March I was hospitalized with eosinophelia pheumonia, brought on by acute asthma attack , I don't HAVE asthma though.
After a lung biopsy and coming out of intensive care after 4 days they put me on steroids as all other medicine had failed.
To make along story short they(docs) thought either there was some viral infection or allergy to flour that caused it, we never did track it down,
I don't know if I'm allergic to flour but the docs suspected it.
Its definately possible and the reaction almost killed me, what symptoms does your freind have? , has he been properly diagnosed.?
If so , what did they tell him?
PS, try looking up asthma and search from there.

Gerard
